Celebrating the Birth and Life of the Prophet (pbuh)
Approximately 1450 years ago humanity was in complete lost. Man had adopted a route in life which Allah had not approved of. Communities, such as the ‘People of the Scripture’ where being misled by their leaders, who were entrusted with the responsibility of guiding the community by safeguarding the divine texts and disclosing it to them in its entirety. Instead they distorted its teachings and the teachings of their Prophets and beguiled the public into believing in whatever corrupt concepts they fabricated. All of this they did for the sake of monetary gain and protecting the hierarchal system they had established. A lengthy era had passed in which no Prophet was sent by the Almighty for the guidance of mankind. Finally, 570 years after Allah’s [sent] spirit and word, Ësä ibn Maryam عليه السلام had ascended to the heavens, Allah blessed humanity once again for the final time by sending a man who He has described as; a witness, a bringer of good tidings, a Warner, one who invites to Allah by His permission, and an illuminating lamp [33:45].

The Mahdi, the Messiah and Mirza Ghulam Ahmad

Towards the end of time many major events are to occur as the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم has foretold. Conditions will become extremely intense and humanity will gradually degenerate. Minor signs of the Final Hour will initially appear followed by a sequence of major signs. The Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم stated, “The signs [of the final hour] are [like] beads put together with a string. When the string will break the beads will [fall] one after the other.” [Häkim: 8639]

Among the many signs of doomsday which the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم has informed us of is the advent of the Mahdi (the Guided One) and the return of Ësä ibn Maryam عليه السلام. The Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم said, “There will certainly be the Mahdi in my nation who will emerge...” [Tirmidhë: 2232]

Why Cover Up?
Doing things against the norm in any society is always a challenge. No one likes to be looked upon as a social outcast and have no sense of belonging in the community. However sometimes it becomes necessary to take such steps in order to expose the community to a better alternative to the way of life they have adopted which may not be as pleasing as generally portrayed. While many are usually unreceptive to change others readily embrace it thus emancipating themselves from the bondage of misery which they had been trapped in for years on end. In today’s society women are generally encouraged to dress less and reveal more. This normally makes the religiously conscious Muslim lady feel uncomfortable who, by fully covering up, would stand out in a crowd like a gleaming white hair in a dark black beard. Very few women stand up against the tide of disobedience to Allah and uphold His laws while the vast majority either compromise their dress code by wearing ‘normal’ clothes with a head scarf thrown on top or just decide to not cover up at all ...

N1H1 Virus: Muslim Perspective

Contagious diseases, viruses or epidemics such as Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) that brings great fear in Toronto, in particular and in Canada and the world, in general. Especially with new recent studies suggesting that SARS like viruses can be spread through the air, and not just by human contact.

Is it a natural epidemic? Is it bio-terrorism? Are the elite trying to control the masses and population of the world?  Everyone has a question, thought, opinion or statement regarding this. Muslims wonder how do we deal with viruses of this nature on an Islamic perspective? What has the Holy Quran and the Sunnah declared pertaining this?
